Speaking in Tongues

Is this symbolism or what? I get to give this post the title of an album which lots of people thought was pretty good--not to say that it isn't--which in reality pailed when compared to those which came before it.

The main reason I decided to do my breakdown of Senator Obama's Berlin speech last week was so that I could highlight in detail what immediately jumped out at me when I first heard it as shockingly aggressive socialist language in the text. While I believe I succeeded in pointing the above out, I realized later that the nature of the piece necessitated that I leave certain background connections and ideas out of my commentary. I therefore spent the last few days putting together a much more specific background of this man and those whom he has encountered and learned from along the way. Someone at IBD--home to the editorial page you should be reading but probably aren't--put together something which is similar to what I was trying to do. It's called Barack Obama's Stealth Socialism and it is absolutely essential reading. I found the greatest value in the piece is that it more or less collects and highlights the various names we have heard occasionally discussed during the campaign as well as many which have not been touched. If you remember anything from this piece it should be this group of names. Any one of them taken on their own could be considered the simple coincidence found in who we meet during everyday life. This list of names is truly substantial however. At what point does it stop being called friends and begin to be called pattern? Saul Alinsky... Frank Marshall Davis... Raila Odinga... William Ayers... Jeremiah Wright. The fact of this man's ascendancy through the political power structure of the United States given the totality of these connections is stunning. And no less disturbing is the fact that the great majority of Americans remain almost completely unaware of this history.
