It's here, it's finally here, the greatest sports day there is.
Paradoxically, I'll probably end up enjoying the first round more than I would if Penn State had made it in. This way I won't be annoyed if CBS switches out of a game I actually care about, and I won't be compelled to follow their possible opponents more than other teams.
Last year I went 4 for 5 with my first round upset picks. This year I'm not nearly as confident with them, but here we go.
I have all kinds of fun going down in the south regional. I have Akron beating Gonzaga (13/4), I have Butler beating LSU (9/8), and then drumroll please...Butler taking out UNC on Saturday. Yes, this was before I realized it's happening in Greensboro...I'm an idiot.
In the midwest, I have Arizona beating Utah (12/5). That's no surprise, it's one of the trendy picks this year. But I'll bet a lot of those same people don't have the Wildcats beating Wake Forest on the way to Indianapolis. It's not all Pac-10 love here though, I have Boston College over USC (7/10) in the same regional, Maryland over Cal in the west (10/7), and VCU upsetting UCLA (11/6) in the east.
If half of that insanity/stupidity actually takes place in the next few days I'll be stunned. So now that I've given you a good laugh this morning, bring on the games!
