Is Southland DOA?

Update: Nah, I guess I'm not as clever as I thought.

Regardless of what I thought of the first episode of Southland (I liked it, sort of Third Watch West, which makes sense as John Wells is showrunning), a question kept popping into my mind while I was watching last night: is NBC really going to air something like this at 9:00? I can't really see it. This thought of course follows from the knowledge that NBC is about to slash its primetime programming from 15 hours per week to 10 next season.

Oh, and am I the only one who thought it was just a little too cute for them to have Brenda Walsh's date for senior prom cracking 90210 jokes?
