Oh, I really hate myself for immediately thinking of that as 'a very special episode of House.' I can hear the voiceover now.
So the House writers just pretty much admitted that those of us who have been loudly complaining about this season have been right. By spending so much time shoving Thirteen at us, they made Kutner so irrelevant that the only way they could make him interesting was to kill him. Good job. Now ordinarily something like this would be a pretty dramatic development in the life of a show. The difference is that House as a character hasn't changed in any meaningful way in five years. That's why I'm criticizing, this appears to simply be something thought up in the writers room. If it leads to lasting developments for the show and the characters than I'll look upon it more favourably.
